As part of our ambitious Sustainability Strategy, we’ve taken a significant step forward in reducing our carbon footprint by expanding our onsite renewable energy generation!
With increasing pressure across the industry to deliver eco-conscious solutions, we’re focused on meeting these expectations without compromising on cost. With more end customers asking for environmentally responsible solutions, we’re investing in infrastructure that allows resellers to offer print with greener credentials.
At Route 1 Print, our ultimate goal is to become entirely self-sufficient by balancing energy efficiency improvements with increased onsite generation. A key part of this strategy began with the installation of solar PV panels on available roof space. This latest initiative marks a significant step in our wider sustainability commitments, as we continue to align environmental responsibility with commercial value for our reseller base.
Fast forward to today and we’ve gone full rooftop-reno on both our factories, adding another 1,765 solar panels into the mix. That’s an extra 839,626 kWh per year, enough to keep thousands of kettles boiling for tea breaks across the nation, or you know a fair few printers in our factory. Combined, these two installations are projected to supply approximately 13–15% of Route 1 Print’s total annual energy needs!
But this isn’t where the green story ends. Oh no. We’re also ramping up energy efficiency throughout the business and actively working to reduce or eliminate the carbon footprint of our day-to-day operations. More power from the sun, less impact on the planet, and a win-win for everyone.
So What Does This Mean for Your Business?
When your clients buy print from you, and you buy print from us, you can rest easy knowing it’s produced in a facility that’s doing everything it can to do right by the planet. From greener production to smarter energy use, we’re investing today so we can all print more responsibly tomorrow.
We believe that being sustainable shouldn’t just be a buzzword... it should be business as usual.
